OUR STORY
Our story began early — very early. We met in “Story Time” at a local library in 2002, when we were just 18 months old, bonding over imagination before we could even spell it. As we grew up, our friendship deepened through writing short stories, obsessing over our favorite films, and eventually bringing our own ideas to life on camera. From the start, our work gravitated toward mystery, suspense, and darkness — always with an undercurrent of comedy.

Over the years, our productions evolved alongside us. What began as childhood experiments turned into increasingly ambitious projects throughout high school and college. Olivia moved to Los Angeles to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Screenwriting, while Ben remained in Connecticut to earn his Master’s in Cinematic Production Management. In 2023, we released a series of short horror films under the YouTube channel Turn the Knob Productions, followed by our short horror film El Jardín, produced under our official banner: Wezdia Films.

We’ve been friends for 23 years and creating stories for over 14 of them. Throughout that time, we’ve developed a distinct personal style that serves as the foundation of Wezdia’s aesthetic. Our films explore themes of environmentalism, familial drama, and the horrors that exist in plain sight — the ones that thrive in daylight rather than darkness. Through our work, we aim to push daylight horror to the forefront and shine a light on the unsettling truths lurking just beneath the surface.
